Year-to-year changes[]
1991[]
There were two NX 2-door coupes made during the early '90s -- the 1600 and the 2000. The NX1600 was equipped with the GA16DE engine, while the NX2000 was equipped with the famous SR20DE engine. Unlike the NX 1600, the NX 2000 had equipped ABS with manual transmission. The NX2000 also had a more sporty bodykit, alloy wheels standard, and foglights standard.
1992[]
Optional T-tops were added for the NX 1600. As for the NX 2000, it was given a new power package consisting of power windows, power door locks and cruise control.
1993[]
The plastic trim was painted the same color as the body, and new paint options such as Electric Blue Pearl were also added (only for 1993). A standard T-top was given to the last of the NX 2000s, as the Nissan NX itself stopped selling in North America in 1993.
