The Audi 100, 200 and S4 were the names of Audi's mid-size cars from 1989 to 1994, replacing the Audi 5000, which sold from 1977 to 1988.

Year-to-year changes

1991

The original Audi 100, sold between the 1989 and 1994 model years, consisted of only a 4-door sedan, in both base and Quattro models. Back then, the car was also accompanied by an aging Audi 200.

Before the S4, Audi's high-performance mid-size car was known as the 200, which replaced the Audi 5000 in 1989. It was available as a 4-door sedan or a station wagon, the latter only containing all-wheel drive, while the former was also available with front-wheel drive.

1992

For 1992, replacing the old Audi 200 were more models added to the Audi 100's lineup -- CS, CS Quattro and S for the 4-door sedan, and a new CS Quattro 4-door station wagon, along with a new Audi S4.

The sedan was the first to be introduced on November 24, 1991.

1993

This was the last year for the Audi 100 base sedan.

1994

Added to the lineup for a limited time was the S 4-door station wagon. After that, all of the Audi 100 models were discontinued.
