The Audi 100, 200 and S4 were the names of Audi's mid-size cars from 1989 to 1994, replacing the Audi 5000, which sold from 1981 to 1988, while the station wagon sold from 1984 to 1988. Both the Audi 100 and 200 originally came with either front or all-wheel drive for the sedans, while the station wagon had front-wheel drive for the Audi 100 and all-wheel drive for the 200. The front-wheel drive station wagon was removed in 1990.

Year-to-year changes

1992

For 1992, replacing the old Audi 200 were more trim levels added to the Audi 100's lineup -- CS, CS Quattro and S for the 4-door sedan, and a new CS Quattro 4-door station wagon, along with a new Audi S4.

The sedan was the first to be introduced on November 24, 1991.

1993

This was the last year for the Audi 100 base sedan.

1994

Added to the lineup for a limited time was the S 4-door station wagon. After that, all of the Audi 100 models were discontinued.
